Education and Training in Western Science and Eastern Contemplative Traditions
Dr. Rich earned a Ph.D. and M.S.W. in Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley, and a M.A. in Health Psychology and B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University. In 1981, Dr. Rich completed 15 months of full-time residential training as a mindfulness yoga and meditation teacher while living at the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy. Tia’s education also includes training and experience in Chinese Medicine, Buddhism and Christianity, Chinese brush painting and pastel portraiture.
